2018 Annual Meeting will be held in Tainan

This year the annual meeting of the Dutch Trading Post Heritage Network will be held in Tainan. The VOC set up a trading base there in 1622 which gradually expanded with additional forts in the area until they were defeated by Zheng Chenggong, aka Koxinga, in 1662. A historical (but fictional) novel based on the events in 1662 was published by a Dutch writer a few months ago. Read more about that here:
